Top Highlights

• WebStreams Performance Breakthrough — Vercel profiled Next.js server rendering and discovered that WebStreams themselves (not the application code) were the bottleneck, prompting a complete rewrite that achieved 10x faster performance by eliminating Promise chains and microtask queue overhead.
• AI Gateway Adds Video Generation — AI Gateway now supports multiple video generation models including Grok Imagine Video, Google's Veo, Kling 3.0, and Alibaba's Wan models, enabling developers to create cinematic, photorealistic videos with synchronized audio through AI SDK 6.
• Private Storage for Vercel Blob (Public Beta) — Vercel Blob now offers private storage with authentication-required access for sensitive files like contracts and invoices, preventing accidental exposure through public URLs.
• Billing Data Now Available via API — Teams can now programmatically access billing usage and cost data through the new /billing/charges endpoint, which returns data in the FOCUS v1.3 open-standard format for seamless integration with FinOps tools.
